New tax on small parcels: "taxe sur les petit colis" for low value shipments to France

Starting 1 July 2025, France introduced a new environmental tax on small parcels, officially called the "taxe sur les petits colis." This applies to all parcels shipped to France with a declared value below €150, whether sent from within or outside the EU. For each qualifying parcel, a surcharge of approximately €1–€2 will be added at checkout or to the shipping cost. This tax is designed to discourage overconsumption and offset the environmental cost of high-volume, low-value shipments. Please factor this into your shipping costs when sending parcels to France.
