To prevent customs delays on overseas purchases, Korea Customs has tightened how it verifies the Personal Customs Clearance Code (PCCC). Some customers may be asked to confirm or correct their details.
β What changed β’ Before: the consignee's name and phone number were checked. β’ Now: the consignee's name, phone number, delivery address (full address) and postal code must all match. β’ If the consignee name is in English, it must also match the English name of the PCCC holder.
β When it applies and to whom β’ In force since 2 February 2026 (per Korea Customs). β’ It applies to people who obtained a new PCCC or changed their PCCC details after 21 November 2025.
β When you enter your details β’ Register your English name, nationality and email address correctly (email is mandatory). β’ You can register up to 20 delivery addresses. If the parcel goes to a family member's or friend's address, add it in advance on the Korea Customs PCCC lookup screen. β’ If any of name (Korean/English), phone number, address or postal code differs, clearance may be delayed.
β Our request Before you submit a shipping request, make sure the recipient details match your PCCC registration exactly. If needed, update your PCCC details with Korea Customs first.
