Customs has been running more price reviews and under-valuation checks. It sometimes skips the seller and contacts the final consumer directly to confirm the real purchase price. If the declared value differs from what you actually paid, or you cannot document the price, a fine may be imposed — so always declare the amount you actually paid.

■ What to submit when a List Clearance entry is put on hold after a price review 1) Details for the statement • Waybill number • Declared value • Final amount paid by the consignee • Items and quantities • Product URL

2) Proof of price (whichever applies) • Purchase receipt / payment statement • Bank statement showing the payment • Credit-card slip • Photos of the actual goods • Documents showing that the card number and the cardholder match (you may mask part of the card number to protect your privacy)

3) Product page evidence • A screenshot of the product page • The product page URL

■ Good to know • Clearance continues only after the documents customs asked for are submitted. A late submission delays delivery. • Gift cards, store credit and points are not discounts. Declare using only the store's official promotions and discounts.
